Smita Bala joined the faculty of GLCPS in the Fall of 2013. She splits her time between teaching high school Chemistry at GLCPS and at UMass Dartmouth as a faculty member in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. After graduating with a BS in Chemistry, Smita went on to earn a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of South Florida in Tampa in 1999. She then worked in the pharmaceutical industry as a research scientist.
